Disability Determinations
The Disability Determinations Section of the Nebraska Department of Education is seeking to contract the services of licensed psychologists, licensed physicians, and licensed physicians with ophthalmology specialty.
Successful candidates will be able to review electronic medical records to determine eligibility of applicants for Social Security disability benefits. They will follow Social Security Administrations Disability guidelines to determine the severity of impairments and complete a detailed and concise analysis of the evidence. Will work with professional disability examiner staff in a team environment to evaluate and comply with program requirements; answer medical case questions; consult on cases and/or provide case guidance.
Minimum qualification: Licensed physician (M.D. or D.O.) or psychologist in good standing with the State of Nebraska. Must pass Homeland Security Presidential Directive 12 (HSPD-12) screening and background investigation for suitability of employment and access to SSA facilities and systems.

- Ability to work in a production environment while timely and accurately reviewing, analyzing and assessing function.
- Must be technology proficient – Have the ability to communicate effectively and professionally via phone, email, written and electronic video conferencing. Must be able to organize information, produce a quality product and work independently using the supplied technology in the work setting.
